The European Parliament cancels tariffs on Ukrainian agricultural products for another year
Members of the EU International Trade Committee approved a proposal to extend the suspension of import duties on Ukrainian exports for another year.
Against the backdrop of russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the European Parliament decided to extend the abolition of import duties on Ukrainian agricultural products for one more year. This was повідомили reported on the website of the European Parliament.
Thanks to the cancellation of import duties, Ukraine supplies agricultural products to the EU under a simplified procedure and at low prices. Yes, the system of minimum input prices applies to the import of fruits and vegetables. Tariff quotas are applied to other agricultural products. Industrial products from the beginning of 2023 are subject to zero duty, so they are not included in the new offer.
“These measures are key to strengthening Ukraine’s resilience now and with a view to the future, as we work on the gradual integration of Ukraine into the EU internal market. Our solidarity with Ukraine is consistent, transparent and unwavering, which was further reinforced by Ukraine’s EU candidate status. Ukraine’s future lies in the European Union,” said Sandra Kalniete, a member of the European Parliament.
