The Swedish Navy was put on alert by russian ships near energy facilities

Commander of the Swedish Navy, Admiral Eva Skoog Haslum, said that russian warships have been spotted near energy facilities in the Baltic Sea.

In particular, russian ships were spotted near Sweden’s wind power plants and underwater power cables, Ukrinform notes with reference to local media. As a result of russian actions, the Swedish and Finnish navies were put on high alert.

“We are at sea all the time. All of our units are ready: landing forces, minelayers, and submarines. We are there 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Haslum said.

Haslum also condemned the mapping activities carried out by the russians.

“Open information can be mapped, but when you go into another country’s waters and do that, it’s not allowed. We have to keep all underwater affairs under control,” the military woman said.
