Grain agreement: negotiations postponed until next week
Negotiations on the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative announced for May 5 have been postponed to next week.
Before the meeting of the Deputy Ministers of Defense of the countries participating in the Grain Agreement, it became necessary to hold a meeting, writes Interfax Ukraine.
Consultations regarding the extension of the agreement will take place with the participation of the technical staff of the UN, Turkey, Ukraine and russia.
According to Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, during the negotiations, the evacuation of Turkish-flagged ships that have been in Ukraine since the beginning of the occupation will be discussed.
“The evacuation of these vessels will also be on the agenda. We will work together to create an agenda, and this agenda will be discussed by the deputy ministers, and a decision will be made later,” the Turkish Defense Minister emphasized.
He also added that the meetings and negotiations gave the impression that the work on the continuation of the Grain Agreement will lead to a positive result.
As previously reported by USM, Turkey does not rule out the termination of the “Grain Agreement” after May 18.
