USPA and National Antarctic Research Center to launch joint monitoring of the Black Sea

Ukrainian Seaports Authority and the National Antarctic Research Center have agreed on joint environmental monitoring of the Black Sea and the water areas of Ukrainian seaports.
This was reported by the USPA.
On October 30, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for joint research, exchange of environmental information and assessment of the state of the marine environment.
It is expected that for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war, regular monitoring will cover the Black Sea coast from the Dnieper-Bug estuary to the mouth of the Danube.
The NASC noted that due to the war, access to the sea and sampling opportunities are significantly limited. It is planned that the USPA will organize the collection of water samples in the water areas of the ports, and the NASC will analyze them for physicochemical and biological indicators. The cooperation also provides for conducting research in the event of accidental pollution or the threat of its occurrence.
Separately, the parties plan to introduce modern methods and technologies of environmental monitoring and expand the exchange of observation results.
Earlier, USM reported that the USPA plans to charter a floating crane with a grab for almost 13 million UAH.
