New system: Ukrainian seamen received 1,800 qualification documents
Currently, the seafarer certification system in Ukraine is being completely rebuilt and digitized.
More than 1,000 sailors received a decision from the new State Qualification Commission for Sailors to issue qualification documents. In turn, the Shipping Administration issued more than 1,800 documents, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.
“We have changed the approach to the procedure of passing exams and obtaining qualification documents for sailors. These processes take place according to a simplified and transparent procedure in accordance with international requirements. Systemic corruption in the field of certification of seafarers must become a thing of the past. The next step is to launch services for seafarers through the Diya portal,” the ministry emphasized.
The only qualification test for seafarers for confirmation/renewal of qualifications is the internationally recognized CES 6.0 test. The results of the exam are issued automatically with the help of a computerized testing system, which makes it impossible for external influence.
Currently, the team of MIU, the Shipping Administration in cooperation with USAID / UK aid project TAPAS Project/Transparency is working on the implementation of an online service in the field of diplomas.
As previously reported by USM, in order to obtain qualification documents , it is necessary to apply to the Shipping Administration or Morrichservice in the prescribed manner.
