The Shipping Administration denied changes to the seafarers’ certification procedure

The agency denied information about alleged automatic refusals of applications for certification submitted through the Diya portal.

The corresponding statement was published on the Telegram-каналі  Telegram channel of the Shipping Administration.

“In recent days, rumors have been actively spreading among the maritime community about alleged changes in the certification procedure. In particular, that applications submitted through the Diya portal will be automatically rejected, and a positive decision is possible only if they are applied through so-called “intermediaries”. We want to clearly state: this is not true,” the agency commented.

They added that, as before, documents for assigning a title/confirmation of qualifications can be submitted both in person and through an authorized representative, online (through the Diya portal), by mail, through the State Enterprise “Morrichservice”, directly through the Shipping Administration.

“All applications are considered in accordance with the requirements of the law, regardless of the method of their submission. None of the channels has advantages or limitations,” the Administration emphasized.

The department cited data that over the past three working weeks, the State Qualification Commission for Seafarers has processed 1,191 applications. Based on the results of the review, 1,081, or 90.8%, decisions were made to issue qualification documents and invitations to take the exam.

If you become aware of facts of possible corruption or someone offers to “resolve the issue” for a fee, the Shipping Administration asks you to report this via the form on the official website or by calling a special hotline: (044) 363-39-47.

Earlier, USM reported that more than three thousand Ukrainian seafarers received identity cards in Warsaw.
