The EU calls for the continuation of the Grain Agreement
EU member states expressed deep concern over the slow down in the implementation of the Grain Agreement and noted that the Russian Federation continues to use food as a weapon.
This became known from the resolution of the EU summit, which was published during the meeting of the governments of the countries in Brussels, writes Ukrinform.
“Russia continues to turn food into weapons, thus undermining global food security. The European Council is deeply concerned about the ongoing slowdown in the implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and calls for the full renewal of the operation within its framework,” the resolution states.
The EU also notes that solidarity corridors remain an important tool in supporting global food security.
We would like to remind you that on June 29-30, another EU summit is taking place in Brussels, the first issue of which was to consider the situation in Ukraine and the EU’s assistance in observing its right to self-defense against Russian aggression.
Earlier it became known that the Russian Federation is deliberately delaying the inspection of ships with Ukrainian grain intended for transportation to the world market with the help of the Grain Agreement.
