Oil exports from Russia to India reached a new record in June

Last month, Indian imports of Russian oil set another record — daily volumes rose to 2.2 million barrels per day.

Russian purchases again exceeded the combined supplies of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, writes enkorr with reference to Bloomberg. Despite the increase, oil shipments may decrease as early as next month due to a decrease in Russian supply.

“India has become a key consumer of Russian oil following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, but domestic purchases may be on the edge due to infrastructure problems and the need to maintain good relations with other suppliers,” the publication notes.

In general, the state-owned Indian Oil Corp. was the largest buyer of Russian oil in the last two months, followed by Reliance Industries Ltd.
