Ukrzaliznytsia transported 12.4 million tons of cargo in June
JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” increased its cargo transportation by a third and increased its load by a quarter in June, compared to the same month last year.
Cargo transportation increased by 32% compared to the same period in 2022 — up to 12.4 million tons. Compared to May, this indicator increased by 8%, the press service of UZ reported.
“We are ending the next month with a positive result of the main business – cargo transportation. The June volumes and their growth strengthen our plan to reach break-even and restore the railway industry,” emphasized Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Cargo transportation for export in June 2023 increased by 24.3% to 4 million tons. The leaders in terms of transportation volumes in June 2023 were construction materials, hard coal, grain cargoes, iron and manganese ore.
In addition, in June 2023, the average daily cargo load on the UZ network increased by 25.3% compared to the same period in 2022 — up to 387.4 thousand tons. By May of this year, this indicator increased by 10%.
