An investigation into the Russian attack on the grain terminal of the port of Odesa Region has begun

Prosecutors documented the consequences of Russian shelling, which damaged two port terminals.
A pre-trial investigation into the attack on the port infrastructure of Odesa was started on the grounds of violation of the laws and customs of war. This is provided for in Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the Odesa RegionProsecutor’s Office reports.
According to the investigation, on the night of July 11, 2023, the armed forces of the Russian Federation used means of warfare prohibited by international law.
“As a result of the attack, two near-port terminals, grain and fuel, caught fire. Equipment and roadways near the fence of the terminal and tanks were damaged,” the message reads.
The fire was promptly extinguished. There are no dead or injured.
According to preliminary data, the attacks were carried out by attack UAVs of the “Shahed” type. At the scene of the events, law enforcement officers recorded yet another war crime of the Russian Federation.
As previously reported by USM, on the night of July 11, the Russians sent several waves of attack UAVs to the south of Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 22 drones out of 24.
