Inspection of Ukrainian cargoes can be transferred to the Baltic ports

Poland positively evaluates the idea of the Lithuanian government to transfer the inspection of Ukrainian agricultural cargo from the Polish-Ukrainian border to the ports of the Baltic Sea.

The governments of Lithuania and Poland are discussing the possibility of transferring the inspection of Ukrainian export grain to the Baltic ports. This was stated by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, writes Delfi.

If the parties agree to such an inspection procedure, the opportunities for Lithuania and other Baltic countries to export Ukrainian grain will increase significantly.

Nauseda emphasized the need to do everything to ensure that alternative supplies of grain through the territory of Poland to the ports of the Baltic countries were as coordinated and efficient as possible.

“The reaction of the Polish Prime Minister was very positive, and it gave me optimism. I think that now our ministries should work with the Polish authorities to continue this conversation and try to implement changes as soon as possible,” the Lithuanian president emphasized.

Previously, USM wrote that Latvia offers its ports for the export of Ukrainian grain.
