Bulgarian farmers will protest for restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural products
Bulgarian farmers are preparing a series of protests across the country. Protests are directed against the parliament’s decision not to extend temporary restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
The farmers’ organizations said that the protest will be peaceful and open-ended until the parliament reconsiders the decision to lift the ban on the import of some types of Ukrainian agricultural products.
The farmers claim that their protests will be supported by about a million citizens.
Before that, the farmers said they did not agree to the government’s proposed compensation and wanted subsidies for the industry.
It will be recalled that on Thursday the National Assembly of Bulgaria adopted a decision to support the lifting of the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products after September 15.
