Denmark transferred autonomous hydrographic complexes to Ukrainain Navy

The Naval Forces of Ukraine recently received autonomous hydrographic complexes from the government of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The complex, equipped with a multi-beam echo sounder, is intended for photographing the relief of the bottom for the purpose of situational awareness of the underwater space, said the head of the hydrographic service of the Navy Captain 1st rank Roman Goncharenko.

The capabilities of the complex allow, in particular, to detect underwater objects, which is very important for military sailors today.

The main task of the multibeam sonar is to collect accurate data about the seabed and the marine environment. These can then be processed and used to create and update nautical charts and tablets to support safe navigation in the area.

The obtained bathymetric information allows you to know the depth of the bottom with density every centimeter. Accordingly, the Navy will know about existing underwater obstacles, will choose the right places for the parking of its vessels, options for passage, routes of passage of ships, etc.

The complex is used primarily in the water areas of ports and closed water areas. The multibeam echo sounder allows you to get information from 1024 beams. That is, in fact, military sailors receive a detailed topography of the bottom.
