Russia is building an oil terminal near a naval base

“Rosneft” continues to build an oil terminal on the western shore of the Kola Bay. The terminal will practically be adjacent to the base of the Russian Navy.

PKK Logistic, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is engaged in the project.

It is expected that the tankers will transport oil from Taimyr to the Kolskyi Bay, to the Vostok Oil terminal, which will be built a few kilometers from Severomorsk. The headquarters of the command of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation is located in Severomorsk.

Rosneft expects that in 2030, Vostok Oil should receive more than 100 million tons of oil per year, the vast majority of which will be transshipped at the new terminal.

In general, the terminal is designed for tankers with a capacity of 200,000 tons. Details about this infrastructure project and why it is being built near a military base are currently unknown.
