British intelligence: the Russian Federation is arranging the development of naval drones

Russia has intensified the development of naval strike drones. It is planned to establish their serial production in 2024.

The British Ministry of Defense reported this on the social network X.

The intelligence review says that on November 27, the director of Russia’s Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant (KMP), Mikhail Danilenko, said that their development of a surface drone “will be tested in a special military operation” with the goal of putting it into mass production in 2024.

According to intelligence, KMP has previously made unmanned aerial vehicles for use on water, but in recent months has focused on kamikaze attack drones. One boat can carry ammunition weighing up to 600 kg.

British intelligence emphasized that the modern development of naval drones – fast boats with explosives – in the hands of the Armed Forces turned out to be a key capability for war at sea.
