The EU proposes to increase the capacity of “Lanes of Solidarity”
The European Council proposed to increase the carrying capacity of “Lanes of Solidarity ” for the export of Ukrainian grain.
“The European Council emphasizes the importance of security and stability in the Black Sea. It is extremely important that the export of grain from Ukraine is stable and reaches world markets,” Interfax-Ukraine writes in the conclusions of the Council meeting.
The Council also supports all efforts to facilitate the export of Ukrainian grain and other agricultural products to countries that need it most, especially in Africa and the Middle East.
“The European Council also emphasizes the importance of using the ‘EU Solidarity Routes’ to the fullest extent and suggests the Commission to speed up work with the Member States to propose new measures to further develop the capacity of the ‘Lanes of Solidarity’ on all routes,” the document reads.
As previously reported by USM, Ukraine exported more than 100 million tons of products through “Lanes of Solidarity”.
