The US Navy claims that Iran is directly involved in Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Iran is directly involved in attacks by the Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea. This was announced by the commander of the 5th fleet of the US Navy, Vice Admiral Brad Cooper.
According to the US, Iran finances and trains the Houthis, as well as supplies the militants with weapons. Currently, attacks linked to Iran have spread from the Persian Gulf region to waters throughout the Middle East.
So, the day before, the Yemeni Houthis announced that they fired at the American cargo ship Ocean Jazz in the Gulf of Aden. In the US, the information about the attack on the ship was denied.
At the beginning of January, the militants announced that they would attack not only Israeli ships, but also American ones.
Since then, at least 3 US civilian vessels have been hit by shelling.
