USAID purchased 85 grain trucks for Louis Dreyfus in Ukraine
A project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) purchased 85 grain cars for the Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC).
85 grain wagons were purchased for LDC, one of the largest exporters of Ukrainian grain and oil crops among foreign companies, the USAID project “Economic Support of Ukraine” reported.
The first twenty wagons have already been delivered to one of the company’s elevators.
The company expects that the use of additional wagons will increase grain exports by 110,000 tons annually. Also, LDC will be able to expand the geography of work and ship grain from those regions of Ukraine, from where it was not possible to export grain. The wagons from the USAID project will allow the company to improve the competitiveness of its procurement terms, which will ultimately benefit local farmers.
In total, Louis Dreyfus owns 660 wagons, a small number of which are currently in temporarily occupied territories since the start of a full-scale invasion. The company exports grain to countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
Previously, USM reported that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide up to UAH 270 million in co-financing for the development of Ukrainian elevator capacities.
