The fee for the use of rolling stock of the “Transport Logistics Center” branch of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” will decrease for grain trucks and semi-cars.
Currently, almost 7,000 wagons with export grain are heading to the deep-sea ports of Odesa.
A project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) purchased 85 grain cars for the Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC).
The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine is changing the rules for sealing wagons and containers.
The flow of wagons with grain cargoes was reoriented from the western borders to the direction of the seaports of Great Odesa.
The Ministry of Infrastructure plans to soften the requirements of its pre-war Order (No. 647 dated November 30, 2021) regarding the terms of operation of freight cars. In particular, for the period of martial law, it is proposed to “amnesty” from scrapping those wagons whose final term of use expires in 2022-2024. The Ministry of Infrastructure’s easing of norms is justified by the risk of a shortage of wagons and an increase in the price of rail freight transportation.
JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” built a record 528 freight cars at its own facilities.
The accumulation of wagons with grain in the direction of the port of Izmail increased by almost 60%.
“Ukrzaliznytsia” is asked to approve a transparent procedure for conducting auctions for the use of wagons and to prevent manipulations with an artificial shortage.
