The corridor from Ukraine to Romanian and Bulgarian ports is becoming a global grain market

Corridor “Ukraine – Ports of Romania and Bulgaria” is gradually transforming into one of the global grain trade markets in the Northwest Black Sea region.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, at the Conference of Speakers of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in the Austrian Parliament, writes Ukrinform.

“We are grateful to the European Union for the creation of “Lanes of Solidarity”, which allow the export of the most important products to the EU and third countries. By the way, the Danube route “Solidarity Paths” remains a key route for Ukrainian agricultural exports,” Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized.

According to him, a new Ukraine-Moldova-Romania grain corridor began operating in October last year, which also makes a significant contribution to overcoming the consequences of the Russian blockade.

“Already now we can talk about the creation of the grain corridor “Ukraine – ports of Romania and Bulgaria”, which is gradually transforming into one of the global grain trade markets in the Northwestern Black Sea region with a branch to the Danube River,” said the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.

He also added that Ukraine will also intensify the development of navigation on the Danube upstream in order to create new routes of trade and supply of goods between Ukraine and other Danube states.

Previously, USM reported that in 2023, cargo turnover through the Danube ports became a record – more than 29 million tons.
