Humenyuk was dismissed from the position of spokeswoman of OC “Pivden”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine held a rotation at the Strategic Communications Center of the Defense Forces of the South.
Nataliya Humenyuk was dismissed from her position as the head of the United Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine. This was reported in the General Staff.
“A decision was made to end the business trip and remove from the forces and assets of the relevant group of troops of Colonel Nataliya Gumenyuk from 04/19/2024,” the message reads.
Currently, no one has been appointed to the position. The search for a suitable candidate is underway.
“The Center for Strategic Communications of the Defense Forces of the South will work as usual, organizing cooperation with media representatives who have the appropriate accreditation of the Armed Forces,” the General Staff assured.
Natalya Gumenyuk is a military officer, a colonel of the State Border Service. Previously, she was the assistant to the head of the regional department for interaction with the mass media of the Regional Department of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service. Prior to that, she was an assistant to the commander of the marine guard unit.
In the spring of 2022, Humenyuk headed the joint coordination press center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.
It will be recalled that the day before, Ukrainian journalists asked the military leadership to replace Humenyuk “with a more competent person”. The journalists said that Humenyuk forbids covering the war crimes of the Russian invaders in the Kherson region and does not grant access to the military. Humenyuk replied that the accusations were unsubstantiated.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed two deputy heads of the Shipping Administration.
