The Minister of Agricultural Policy commented on the announcing of suspicion on him
According to Mykola Solskyi, the events about which NABU notified him of suspicion relate to the period when he was not yet a minister.
The Minister stated that the suspicion of “the seizure of state land for UAH 291 million” relates to the period 2017-2018. This is stated on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to the statement, the seven-year-old circumstances relate to a dispute between state-owned enterprises and individuals over land that was given to the latter for possession. At that time, Mykola Solskyi was neither the Minister of Agrarian Policy nor the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
Disputes about this are still ongoing and are being resolved by the courts, in particular, the Supreme Court. According to Solsky, today a number of decisions state that state-owned enterprises do not have the right to land, which is probably what NABU is referring to.
