Ukraine exported 7 million tons of cargo by rail in April


Almost half of all cargo exported by rail was agricultural products.

In April, 7 million tons of cargo were sent for export by rail. This is reported by Rail.insider.

The export volume last month was 1.1 million tons, or 13.5% less than in March. In the structure of export transportation, the first place is occupied by grain cargoes (42.4%), and the second place is iron and manganese ore (37 .4%), on the third – ferrous metals (5.8%).

According to the structure of cargo, exports by rail in April were distributed as follows:

• grain — 2.979 million tons (-8.1%, compared to March);

• iron and manganese ore — 2.629 million tons (-26.5%);

• ferrous metals — 410.5 thousand tons (+11.9%);

• Ministry of construction materials — 322.9 thousand tons (+24%);

• oil — 151.6 thousand tons (+5.7%);

• cement — 137.3 thousand tons (-7.4%).
