In Odesa, the bridge over the Kofa canal, which connects two ports, is being repaired

In the Izmail district of Odesa, the bridge over the Kofa canal, which connects the Izmail and Kilia ports, is being repaired.

Work is underway on the T-16–07 Izmail — Kilia — Vylkove road, the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported.

“According to the bridge repair project, we are planning a comprehensive restoration of transport and operational characteristics and installation of new road surface on the bridge, approaches and exits. We are also planning to install water drainage facilities, separators, and strengthening of the roadside,” the department said.

As the agency noted, the bridge over the Kofa canal is an important strategic structure in the south of the Odesa region.

“Repairing the bridge will significantly shorten the journey to the city of Izmail. Especially for the residents of the city of Kilia – currently they have to detour on the highway M-15 Odesa – Reni. In addition, the bridge will connect the ports of Izmail and Kili and is of great importance for the four communities of the Izmail district,” the department added.

We will remind you that the bridge was built in the 60s of the last century, but in 2021 it was closed to all types of vehicles due to its state of emergency.

Previously, USM said that the bridge from Ukraine across the Tysa will allow to increase the volume of exports.
