“Pivdennyi” port can provide a loan to “Boryspil” airport

“Boryspil” International Airport appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to provide it with financial assistance from SE “Pivdennyi Trade Sea Port”.

Having exhausted its own reserves during the years of full-scale invasion, the airport turned to the state in the form of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Cabinet of Ministers, “Interfax-Ukraine“was informed by the airport’s press service.

The airport is asking for funding from alternative sources to preserve it. One of the possible solutions is considering the provision of material assistance (loan) on a reverse basis from another state enterprise – “Pivdennyi Trade Sea Port”.

It is indicated that this practice is common in the public sector of Ukraine.

The airport’s press service reported that, despite the suspension of commercial flight services from February 24, 2022, the airport continued “activities aimed at preserving the infrastructure, maintaining operational readiness, as well as preserving the workforce, highly qualified employees.”

Previously, USM said that the “Pivdennyi” Marine Oil Terminal will be transferred to the Ministry of Energy and become a state-owned enterprise. This is stated in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 30, 2024 under No. 381-r “On approval of the establishment of the state enterprise “Marine Oil Terminal “Pivdennyi””.
