The EU and Britain will strengthen inspections of the Russian oil fleet
Great Britain and several countries of the European Union may begin increased inspections of vessels of Russia’s “shadow fleet”.
Britain plans to appeal to several EU countries to jointly strengthen inspections of vessels carrying Russian oil, Bloomberg reports.
Several governments are expected to approve the plan when the European Political Community meets on Thursday, July 18.
The participants of the meeting plan to exchange information about the Russian fleet, as well as coordinate “responses to the risks posed by vessels and intermediaries.”
Also, one of Bloomberg’s interlocutors said on condition of anonymity that in the future countries may introduce sanctions against a larger number of “shadow fleet” tankers.
Previously, USM reported that due to the strengthening of sanctions by the USA, Great Britain and the EU, Russian oil tankers are forced to stand still at sea.
