Ukraine will soon run out of quotas for the export of agricultural products
According to forecasts, in the near future Ukraine may exhaust the quotas for sending seven types of agricultural products to the EU.
Ukraine will probably run out of quotas for seven types of agricultural products in the fall. These goods fall under the EU’s autonomous trade measures, “Latifundist” writes.
“If earlier we talked about one system exporter, now there are about 10 of them. Therefore, we hope that, although the quotas will be exhausted, we will still not reach the introduction of customs trade,” said the trade representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.
The best situation is with corn, because the duty for importing this crop into the EU is currently zero.
“Even the occurrence of the “threshold” foreseen by the autonomous measures will not cause any harm to Ukraine, we will continue to trade duty-free. But, I think, in reality, we will be close to reaching the threshold indicators, but we will not exceed them,” commented Taras Kachka.
The day before, USM wrote that the volumes of wagons with grain to the western borders had increased significantly.
