In the ports of Great Odesa, a low level of freight rates is recorded


Due to low demand for vessels and a shortage of orders, shipowners are keeping freight rates low.

Tariffs for сoфsters from the Danube ports remain at the level of last week. A slight decrease of $1 is observed in the direction of the Eastern Mediterranean, Spike Brokers reported.

“Freight for transportation by barges in the direction of Ruse and Silistra is also kept at a stable low level, as well as freight rates for handysizes. In contrast, panamax fares to South Vietnam increased by $1, while those to China fell by $1,” analysts said.

At the same time, the ports recorded a drop in unloading indicators for the past week. The average daily rate of unloading in the ports of Great Odesa decreased by 12.4% for the week to 1,031 cars.

The number of wagons moving in the direction of deep-sea ports is 3,694 units, which is 10.24% less compared to the previous week.

The backlog of wagons at the port of Izmail decreased slightly and amounts to 500 wagons. The average daily rate of unloading of wagons at the port of Izmail increased by 20% compared to the penultimate week and is 59 kg/day.
