A new ferry line may open between Reni and Romanian Braila
The Ministry of Development also plans to modernize the Orlivka-Isaccea checkpoint so that not only ferries can pass through it.
This was discussed during a meeting in the QUINT format, which brought together representatives of Ukraine, the United States, Romania, Moldova and the European Commission (DG MOVE), writes the CTS.
According to Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Serhiy Derkach, it is planned to modernize the Orlivka-Isaccea checkpoint so that not only ferries, but also barges and containers can pass through it. The opening of a new ferry line between Reni and Braila (Romania) is also being considered.
“But for the success of these projects, investments from business and international partners are needed,” Ukrainian government officials noted.
As USM previously reported, the Ukrainian part of the Danube is being integrated into the European TEN-T transport network.
