USPA wants to recover $50 million from ex-Minister of Infrastructure Pyvovarskyi

The court accepted the lawsuit of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

This was reported by former Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarskyi on Facebook.

The case concerns the recovery of $50 million from former Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarskyi, his former deputy Volodymyr Shulmeister and the TIS group of companies in the case of changing the ship fee in 2015.

As Pyvovarskyi explained with reference to the text of the lawsuit, in the petition part of the civil lawsuit, the USPA asks the court to oblige the TIS group of companies jointly with Pyvovarskyi and Shulmeister to return funds in the amount of almost $50 million.

The court accepted this lawsuit for consideration on February 10. It is not yet in the court registry.

At the same time, the former minister noted that his lawyers see this as an attempt to confiscate the funds of third parties, without involving them in the consideration of the case.

“None of the TIS companies are involved in my case and no official or manager of this group of companies is a participant in my criminal proceedings,” the ex-minister added.

According to him, the criminal case against TIS is closed.

Recall, in the summer of 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine refused to allow the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office and NABU to transfer $30 million from the arrested TIS accounts to the accounts of the National Agency for Investigation and Asset Management (ARMA). The arrested property does not contain traces of a criminal offense, the court ruled.

As previously reported by USM, in February 2023, the NABU and SAPO notified the former Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pyvovarsky of suspicion of abuse of power, due to which the state allegedly suffered losses of more than $30 million.
