The uninterrupted operation of the ports of the Odesa region is a matter of national security, — Kalashnyk

Seaports, the Danube direction and transport corridors of the Odesa region are of critical importance for Ukrainian exports and the economic stability of the state.

This was заявив stated by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine Mykola Kalashnyk during a working trip to the Odesa region.

Together with the head of the Odesa Regional Administration Ole Kiper and people’s deputies, the minister inspected key transport and critical infrastructure facilities of the region. They discussed ensuring uninterrupted logistics, the operation of seaports and the Danube direction, as well as the implementation of the Comprehensive Resilience Plan.

“The operation of seaports, transport corridors and critical infrastructure facilities directly affects exports, logistics and continuity of communication with European countries. That is why the development of the region’s infrastructure is a matter of national security,” Kalashnyk emphasized.

During the visit, the implementation of infrastructure projects was also checked. Regarding the facilities where work is still ongoing, the responsible services were instructed to accelerate their implementation to strengthen the sustainability of the Odesa region’s transport system.

Recall, on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of Mykola Kalashnyk as Minister of Infrastructure.
