The court will consider the case regarding the scheme of Odesa Customs and an agricultural exporter

An indictment was sent to the court against two current and three former officials of the Odesa Customs Service and the director of the exporting company.
This is a case of tax evasion in particularly large amounts, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine reports.
Earlier, detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security, together with prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Office, exposed officials of the Odesa Customs Service in abusing their official position, which allowed the sunflower crop exporting company to evade paying more than UAH 13 million in taxes.
Customs officers issued certificates of origin of agricultural products to the exporting company based on documents containing false information.
“The exporter subsequently used these certificates to freely export agricultural products and evade taxes by reducing the export duty from 10% to 3.6% and 2.7%,” the report says.
It should be noted that the Odesa Customs officials and the director of the exporting company were informed of the suspicion. The indictment was sent to the court.
Earlier, USM reported that Bureau of Economic Security had exposed a group of companies for not paying UAH 30 million in taxes during the transshipment of wheat.
