Defense Intelligence: Sovcomflot violates the price ceiling for Russian oil

The War&Sanctions portal has published new data on the captains of the Russian “shadow fleet” and violating vessels.
The updated data contains information on 11 captains and 31 vessels, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Among the published individuals are the captains of tankers affiliated with the sanctioned Russian company Sovcomflot, who violate the policy of limiting the maximum price for Russian oil. In particular, these are Ivan Nikifirov, captain of the tanker Kotlas, and Konstantin Kovalenko, captain of the tanker Corus,” the Defense Intelligence said.
The department added that the captains have information about the owners of the shadow tankers, the technical condition of the vessels, the cargo and its value, as well as the vessel’s route.
“They are the ones who make decisions to disable or manipulate ships’ navigation systems, falsify ship location data, enter false data into route logs, dangerously transship oil between ships at sea, and use other schemes to circumvent sanctions,” the report says.
It should be noted that the “Sea Vessels” section of the War&Sanctions portal already has data on 782 ships and 100 captains.
