Anniversary of the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovska hydroelectric power station: Ukraine continues to eliminate the consequences

Two years ago, on June 6, 2023, the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which led to the flooding of cities and villages, the death of people and the destruction of ecosystems.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, the terrorist attack by the Russians on the Kakhovska hydroelectric power station is one of the most serious crimes of the occupiers, which caused significant losses to Ukraine.

“Today, the Government continues to actively work on eliminating the consequences of the disaster. Water supply is being restored, main water pipelines are being built, rivers are being cleaned, and the agricultural sector is being supported. Work is underway to restore the soil and natural balance so that the region can return to full life,” the Prime Minister noted.

He also added that Ukraine seeks not only to correct the consequences of the disaster, but also to make this region stronger, more stable and more comfortable. To this end, the state is attracting international assistance to accelerate reconstruction.

Let us remind you that the amount of damage due to the explosion of the Kakhovska hydroelectric power station reached $14 billion. This is seven times more than the initial calculations.
