Kubrakov reacted to information about searches: what is known

Former Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov responded to information about the SBI searches. He denied possible involvement in fraudulent schemes.

Former Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov reported this on his Facebook page.

In response to the information of the Ukrainian State Police, the ex-employee stated that he had no relation to Yevhen Shevchenko.

“I want to say that I have no relation to Yevhen Shevchenko, Belarus, or the procurement of fertilizers or any other fraud. Our last contact took place before the full-scale invasion. He addressed me as a people’s deputy to the Minister of Infrastructure. I had no other business or even communication outside of professional activities, after February 22 I knew about Shevchenko’s life exclusively from the press,” the former minister said.

Oleksandr Kubrakov also added that he always promptly provided all information to law enforcement agencies if necessary.

It should be noted that this is the current People’s Deputy of Ukraine Yevhen Shevchenko, who has been in custody for high treason since November 2024. The SBU reported that they documented how the People’s Deputy embezzled money from one of the Ukrainian companies that purchased mineral fertilizers in Belarus.

Under the guise of ties with a neighboring state, the defendant created artificial obstacles to the delivery of goods from Belarus to Ukraine, and for their resolution, he demanded a bribe of UAH 14.5 million. It is documented that the corresponding amount was deposited into the accounts of a commercial structure owned by the People’s Deputy’s son.

In addition, available data indicate that the People’s Deputy could receive regular “kickbacks” by offering Belarusian quotas for the supply of fertilizers to other Ukrainian enterprises.

As previously reported by USM, on July 11 it became known that the State Bureau of Investigation is conducting searches at the residence of former Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov in connection with the alleged fraudulent actions of People’s Deputy Yevheniy Shevchenko. The latter was previously charged with two counts of treason.
