Russia and China begin joint maneuvers in the Pacific Ocean

Russia and China have deployed their warships for joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific region.

Russia and China have launched another joint patrol in the Asia-Pacific region after the completion of the “Maritime Interaction” exercises. This is reported by “Militarnyi”.

The detachment includes the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Tributs” and the destroyer of the PLA Navy “Shaoxing”, as well as support vessels from both countries. The stated goal of the operation is to strengthen naval cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, monitor the water area and “protect objects of maritime economic activity”.

Similar joint exits have been taking place annually since 2021 and cover strategically important areas both in neutral waters and near exclusive economic zones.

This year’s patrol began immediately after the end of the active phase of Russian-Chinese exercises in the Sea of Japan, where crews practiced anti-submarine defense, artillery fire, and maneuvering in conditions close to combat.

Previously, USM reported that Russia had conducted large-scale naval exercises in four seas.
