The work of ports on the Danube was discussed in Izmail

A working meeting of representatives of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” with a delegation of the European Commission for Mobility and Transport (MOVE) and the Danube Commission was held in the Odesa region.

This was reported by the USPA press service.

The main topic of the negotiations was the safety of navigation in the Black Sea and on the Danube. The parties discussed the issues of the operation of the Ukrainian Bystre estuary and the Romanian Sulina Canal, as well as the mechanisms that will be included in the Rapid Response Plan for unforeseen situations, which is currently being developed jointly with the European Commission.

“Special attention was paid to the prospects for increasing transshipment in Danube ports and developing port infrastructure,” the USPA noted.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the European and Danube Commissions for operational support after the incident with the vessel “Ingulsky” in the approach channel of the Bystre estuary.

The USPA also noted the importance of constant cooperation with international partners, which allows for effective response to challenges, maintain shipping stability, and develop port infrastructure in wartime conditions.

Earlier, the USPA raised the dredger “Ingulsky”, which had previously been damaged during work at the mouth of the Bystre.
