A sea crossing point across the “Russian border” is being prepared in the port of Mariupol

The invaders plan to open a sea crossing point across the “state border of the Russian Federation” in the Mariupol port.
This is reported by Russian media with reference to the Russian Ministry of Transport.
The “modernization” of the port was discussed at a meeting between the head of the Ministry of Transport, Andrei Nikitin, and the head of the pseudo-republic of “DPR” Denis Pushilin.
The occupiers noted that by the end of 2024, the capacity of the Mariupol seaport had reached 4.2 million tons (despite the fact that before the occupation by Russia this figure was about 5-7 million tons). The Russian Ministry of Transport added that they plan to work together with the government of the pseudo-republic to attract “additional cargo flows” to the port.
Denis Pushilin stated that the port is “convenient in terms of logistics, which is being built across the Sea of Azov, which has already become internal Russian.”
USM previously reported that Russia had “opened” the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk for foreign ships. After that, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called for sanctions against Russia.
