In 2025, the Ukrainian Navy also continued to organize the security of shipping to the ports of Ukraine, ensuring the passage of 7,318 vessels.

This was reported by the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.

According to him, the units of the Ukrainian Navy continued to carry out tasks and weaken the Russian aggressor – from strikes on its territory to the daily confrontation of the marines on the hottest front lines.

“In cooperation with other components of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, strikes were carried out on more than 50 objects of the enemy’s defense industry and critical infrastructure. Shadow fleet tankers, military infrastructure, energy, and oil industry facilities were hit,” the Vice Admiral emphasized.

In addition to organizing ship calls to ports, in 2025 the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surveyed almost 120 square kilometers of sea water area, detected and destroyed 49 sea mines of various types.

The Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also said that the air defense units of the Navy destroyed 2,464 enemy air attack vehicles, of which 1,142 were Shahed UAVs.

In particular, within the framework of the work of the Coalition of Maritime Capabilities of Ukraine, the Naval Forces received two mine countermeasure ships, dozens of combat boats and vessels of various types, as well as means of destruction, mine countermeasures, illumination of the surface situation and physical protection of ports.

“In 2025, special attention was paid to the development of unmanned systems. Their integrated use increased the effectiveness of defeating the enemy, and the economic effect of the losses caused significantly exceeds the amount of resources involved in the implementation of this direction. The Navy continues to deter the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The enemy is forced to keep most of its warships, including all the Caliber carriers, in Novorossiysk,” Oleksiy Neizhpapa emphasized.
