The European Commission and Ukraine discussed solutions for the development of logistics on the Danube

A meeting was held in Izmail dedicated to the current situation in the Danube region and the Black Sea ports of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Development, the key goal of the meeting was to agree on approaches to coordinating assistance that the European Commission can provide to Ukraine in the face of military challenges.

Representatives of the USPA informed the participants about the general situation in the Danube region and the Black Sea ports in early 2026, in particular regarding access to route capacity, the state of port infrastructure, the consequences of damage and energy restrictions.

It is noted that special attention was paid to key infrastructure “bottlenecks”, in particular, the dredging of the Danube, updated capacities and work plans.

The Ukrainian side also presented the current status of the use of EU financial support in the amount of 50 million euros, aimed at restoring critical infrastructure after the Russian attacks.

USM previously reported that the simplification of customs procedures at Ukrainian ports will begin on January 25.
