A “shadow fleet” tanker damaged by a drone attack was found in Istanbul

A tanker belonging to the Russian “shadow fleet” has been discovered in Istanbul, Turkey. The vessel was damaged by a drone attack.
The tanker Ursus Maritimus, which was attacked by drones near the oil terminal in the Russian port of Volna on Taman, was discovered in Istanbul, Crimean Wind reports.
The vessel was attacked on the night of December 21-22, 2025. The damaged vessel is moored in Turkey – a large hole is visible on the starboard side of the vessel.
The tanker Ursus Maritimus (IMO 9297345) was built in 2005 and flies the flag of Liberia.
The tanker has been in the Turkish port of Tuzla since January 24.
USM previously reported that the captain of the detained tanker Grinch was taken into custody.
