Zelenskyy: Ukraine and EU are working on a plan to confiscate oil from Russian ships subject to sanctions

Ukraine and Europe are working on legislative regulation of the confiscation of oil from vessels of the Russian “shadow fleet”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in an evening address on March 21.
He noted the efforts of France, which last week detained one of the tankers of the Russian “shadow fleet”.
“This tanker is already under sanctions by Ukraine, already under sanctions by Britain, the European Union and America. But the Russians still use it. It systematically transports not only Russian, but also Iranian oil. These are real accomplices — Russia and the Iranian regime, even in such things as the shadow fleet — they have everything in common,” the president commented.
Zelensky said that Ukraine is working with European countries to ensure that their legislative regulation allows not only to stop such vessels, but also to block them and confiscate oil.
USM previously reported that Russia plans to organize military convoys to protect the “shadow fleet.”
