Ukraine allocates UAH 718 million for transport connections between ports on the Danube and Moldova

The funds will go to repair the bridge in Mayaki, as well as to build a bridge at the Yampil-Koseuts checkpoint in Vinnytsia region.

This was reported by the Ministry of Development.

As noted by the Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, UAH 718 million will be spent on ensuring transport connections with the southwestern part of the Odesa region and with Moldova.

This should create a backup road connection and strengthen transport links with Moldova and the ports of the Danube region.

“We are systematically strengthening alternative routes: both within the region and on international routes to Moldova and Romania. This concerns freight transportation, mobility of people and stable operation of the economy. A separate focus is the restoration and creation of backup solutions in the area of the bridge in Mayaki, which was damaged at the end of last year. This will allow the formation of additional logistics routes and reduce the vulnerability of critical infrastructure,” Kuleba notes.

The decision also includes the construction of a bridge at the Yampil-Koseuts checkpoint in Vinnytsia Region.

USM previously reported that the Russians are attacking bridges on the way to ports in the south of Odesa Region to disrupt logistics and transport links towards the Danube.
