Ukraine will remain a transit country thanks to ports on the Black Sea, — First Deputy Minister

Ukraine will remain a transit country thanks to the Black Sea ports, which are vital for exports, imports and the economy of many countries.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Alena Shkrum, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
At the Ukraine-EU business summit in Brussels, she emphasized the importance of assistance, in particular in providing more guarantees to attract financing for the repair and modernization of roads, railways, and checkpoints.
“We must be a reliable partner here, this is our main task. However, we also need your help…”, — said Alena Shkrum.
According to her, for its part, Ukraine is working on public-private partnerships – on the concession of port terminals, airports and roads. The first pilot projects are being carried out with the help of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
“Ukraine needs these successful pilot projects right now. We are not waiting for the start of construction at zero hour after the war, we have no opportunity to wait,” the First Deputy Minister emphasized. She also added that during the war, Ukraine gained invaluable and exclusive experience in protecting sea, railway and road routes from drone and missile attacks and is ready to share it with partners.
