The Ministry of Infrastructure might be restored in Ukraine, — Zheleznyak

Instead of the Ministry of Community and Territories Development, a separate Ministry of Infrastructure is planned to be restored as part of the upcoming changes in the government.

This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to him, the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, which is currently headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, is planned to be divided into two departments.

A separate Ministry of Regional Development may be headed by MP Vitaliy Bezgin. At the same time, the candidate for the future head of the Ministry of Infrastructure has not yet been determined.

It should be noted that a separate Ministry of Infrastructure existed in Ukraine until the end of 2022. In December of the same year, the government merged it with the Ministry of Community and Territories Development and created the Ministry of Community, Territories and Infrastructure Development headed by Oleksandr Kubrakov.

In 2024, the department was headed by Oleksiy Kuleba, and later the ministry received its current name – the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

At the same time, the department’s sphere of responsibility remains key transport areas, including sea and river transport, railways, road transport and aviation. The Ministry also coordinates the work of the Sea Ports Authority of Ukraine and other maritime industry enterprises.

Thus, in the event of the implementation of the planned reform, the management of transport and port infrastructure in Ukraine may again pass to a separate Ministry of Infrastructure.

Earlier, USM reported that the Ministry of Development will seek funding for the restoration of private port infrastructure
