Zelenskyy and Erdogan discussed shipping safety rules in the Black Sea

Ukraine and Turkey have discussed mutual rules that should ensure a minimum level of safety for civilian shipping in the Black Sea.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with CNN Türk.

According to him, civilian vessels under the flag of Turkey and other states should be able to enter Ukrainian ports without hindrance. At the same time, the parties should refrain from attacking such vessels in both Ukrainian and Russian ports.

Separately, Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine’s readiness for a trilateral meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, if Ankara can organize such talks.

The president noted that Erdogan’s personal contacts with US President Donald Trump and Putin could help advance the negotiation process.

At the same time, Zelenskyy ruled out the possibility of territorial concessions and negotiations on Ukraine without Kyiv’s participation.

He also stated that Ukraine retains the right to strike at Russian fuel infrastructure and enterprises that supply Russia with diesel fuel. Read also: Suspension of the ports of Great Odesa. What to expect and how market participants are adapting.
