The queue on the Sulina Canal is growing not only for the entrance, but also for the exit of vessels. This was reported by Avalon Shipping Operations Manager Kateryna Kononenko.

According to her, currently about 13 vessels are waiting to exit the canal and pass the commission in the area of ​​​​the 36th mile.

At the same time, there is room for only about six vessels in Tulcea, while the rest are forced to wait in the Chatala area.

As a result, the waiting time for exiting the canal has increased from about one day to 3-4 days.

Kononenko suggests that this figure may continue to grow. She also recommended monitoring the weather forecast in the region, as weather conditions can additionally affect vessel traffic. USM previously reported that freight from Danube ports has risen sharply due to a shortage of vessels and queues in Sulina.
