The court returned a berth in one of the Danube ports to state ownership

At the request of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the court returned the berth to state ownership, the private property right to which was illegally registered under the company.

This was reported by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

In court, the prosecutors proved that the berth was never owned by the defendant, was not included in the list of property subject to privatization, and should have remained in state ownership.

“However, as a result of the registration of the defendant’s private property right to it, it illegally left the state’s possession against its will. Moreover, the legislation directly prohibited the privatization of objects of national importance, including berths of all categories and purposes,” the prosecutor’s office explained.

According to the Unified State Register of Court Decisions, it is likely a claim against PJSC “Izmail Pulp and Cardboard Plant” and the berth in the Izmail port.

“The prosecutor noted that the pier never belonged to the defendant, was not included in the list of property subject to privatization in the period 1995-2000, and remained in state ownership, but as a result of the defendant’s registration of private ownership rights to it, it illegally left the state’s possession against its will,” the registry website states.

The courts agreed with the prosecutor’s arguments and reclaimed this property from private ownership in favor of the state.
