Russia massively attacked the port and industrial infrastructure of the Odesa region


The strikes caused large-scale fires, but there were no casualties.

On the night of October 5, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Odesa region. The industrial and port infrastructure, as well as the dacha sector, were hit. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

“The Russians launched a massive attack on the Odesa region. The industrial and port infrastructure, as well as the dacha sector, were hit,” he noted.

The strikes resulted in large-scale fires. Due to significant smoke, radiation, chemical and biological protection specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine inspected the area – no hazardous substances were detected according to the measurements.

More than 90 firefighters from the State Emergency Service and the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine were involved in the elimination of the consequences. Rescuers worked in difficult conditions due to high temperatures and repeated air danger signals.

As of 8 am, all fires had been extinguished. There were no casualties, and work is underway to eliminate the consequences.

Separately, the Izmail Regional State Administration reported damage to a summer house in Vylkovo.

In total, Russia launched 205 drones over Ukraine overnight, about fifty of them jets.

Also this weekend, Russia attacked a civilian ship in the port of Odesa. A sailor died as a result of the shelling.
