The movement of the capsized cargo ship Khoryv is being monitored in real time. The vessel is expected to enter Bulgaria’s area of responsibility.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport and Communications reported this on October 27, BNT News reports.

Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev and Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov held a meeting during which they agreed on possible measures to ensure shipping safety.

The vessel’s movement is being monitored continuously, and information on developments will be updated promptly. A Bulgarian Navy ship will be dispatched to inspect the capsized vessel.

In particular, the Maritime Administration will issue regular navigational warnings to all vessels passing through the area or planning a route through Bulgaria’s area of responsibility.

As previously reported by USM, the Comoros-flagged “Khoryv” sank on the morning of October 23 approximately 13 nautical miles, or 24 km, from Constanta, outside Romanian territorial waters.

Romanian President Nikos Dan said the ship was hit by a drone and the crew sent a distress signal before sinking.
